Saturday 6/17/2023 - Gotcha Day for Rex!!

Hey everyone, it’s Rex! Today is a super special day because it’s my “gotcha day” anniversary! Six years ago, my mom and dad drove all the way to Milwaukee, WI to adopt me from Wisconsin Border Collie Rescue. Can you believe it’s been six years already? Time flies when you’re having fun!

We had a party for me today with lots of treats and new toys to play with. Of course, mom had to get out her phone for pictures. I’m not a big fan of taking pictures, but I guess when it’s your party, you’ve got to suck it up and smile (or wag your tail, in my case). Mom took a bunch of pics and she said she would share them with you guys.

And if you like and are interested in any of the toys I got, mom said she would post a link where to find them right below this post. They were all super fun to play with so I know you would love them too!

Anyway, I hope your weekend is as awesome as mine! I’m going to go enjoy my new toys and share them with my little sister Isla (even though she’ll probably try to steal them). Rex over and out!

Sunday 6/18/2023 - Not Spooky Isla and Record Bunny Counts!

Hey guys. Isla here to give you the scoop on our adventures today. So, even though it’s my bro’s week to update, I decided to jump in and tell you all about how much of a brave girl I was this morning. We were about a mile away from home and they started shooting at the national guard base near us. It was louder than normal, and I didn’t get spooked. Or at least not spooked enough to make mom take me home. I did have to nudge her a few times to make sure she had heard them because she didn’t seem to realize they were going on. But then I got distracted by bunnies and forgot about the noises!

We ran into our new little Corgi friend and then our besties Mason and Emmy. And the sprinklers were going in one of the parks, but mom wouldn’t let us go play in them because my brother gets too crazy sometimes.

But, check it, we also counted a crazy amount of bunnies today! Like, fifty-six bunnies. Can you even believe it? I’m stoked because the last time they set a bunny record, I wasn’t even there. So now I’m a part of it too! Our new goal is sixty bunnies, but it’s getting hotter out so our walks may be shorter. We may have to wait until next spring to break this new record.

That’s all for my updates today, folks. I’ll let Rex take over again since it’s his turn. Isla signing off.

Wednesday 6/21/2023 - Rex Has Fun Bestie Visit

Hello friends, it’s Rex today. Just wanted to share updates from our awesome adventures last night and this morning.

Our awesome times started last night. We walked to the dog park as usual. Once we were there our besties Artie and Bru showed up. Bru is one of my favorite buddies, besides my sister Isla and my bff Bailey back in Iowa. We hadn’t seen them in a while, so we hung out longer than normal and caught up on all their gossip. Then on our walk home, we thought we we heard  a coyote, but thank goodness it didn’t come out to say hi. Apparently, mom and dad say I shouldn’t be making friends with the coyotes.

Oh, and we also saw one of those dang toads running across the street. There aren’t many of them out yet, fortunately. Mom and dad say it’s because it’s not monsoon season yet. Once that begins and we start getting more rain, they will start coming out of the woodwork.

The only bummer is that I haven’t been able to hit up the splash pad lately since the weather’s been unseasonably cool and so it’s been busy with kids. Don’t get me wrong – I love staying frosty – but there’s been a ton of kids hanging out there at night. Still, it’ll be nice to get back there soon and tell everyone about our crazy splash pad adventures!

Later gators, Rex over and out!!
