Update on the bee sting pup

Wanted to give you a little update on the pup that got stung by over 60 bees last week. He had to stay with the vet for several days and even get a blood transfusion because his red blood cells were turning on each other. But, good news – he’s back home now and doing a lot better. The latest check-up showed that his body is making its own red blood cells again, so hopefully he’s well on his way to a full recovery!

5/28/2023 - Indy 500 Day!!

Hey, it’s Rex! Today was pretty cool since it was Indy 500 day! We got up early this morning to take a walk and then had a small watch party for it. Mom got us these cute bandanas to wear, which my sister Isla loved. But then she tried to make us wear hats for the drivers we like too. I’m not a big fan of wearing hats so I was not thrilled. Luckily, mom only took a few pictures with them and didn’t make us wear them all day.

After the mini photoshoot, dad made us a special breakfast of bacon and eggs – yum! We were stoked to watch the race too, which started early for us since we’re in the pacific time zone (9.45am). Even though the drivers we cheered for didn’t win, we had a fun time! And during breaks, we got to play ball outside.

Overall, the watch party was a success – except for our drivers losing.

Alright guys, I’ll catch up with ya soon! Rex over and out!

Monday 5/26/2023 - Memorial Day & Post Indy 500 Record Bunny Day!!

Hey there! Happy Memorial Day! Isla here, reporting back from our morning walk. So, I’ve been a little spooky lately when leaving for our walks. I get a little scared that there will be loud boom noises, so when we first step outside, I’ll take a few steps and then ask to go back inside for a reset. Mom thinks it’s an odd habit, but I don’t really care what she thinks.

Anyway, after my little reset today, we headed out on a walk and towards the bunny park. We saw six bunnies before we even got there – that’s a lot for this route! Once we were there, I heard a couple of loud booms, but I was too focused on bunnies at that point to really notice.

After the bunny park, we went on one of our longer walks and guess how many bunnies we spotted? FIFTY bunnies – that’s right, five-oh! Our old record was thirty-nine, so it was a new record for us. And no snakes or coyotes or anything else scary, just bunnies! We’re not sure if fifty bunnies was a fluke or if we’ll see that many again. Either way, we’ll definitely keep you posted. Excited for our walk tomorrow morning! Signing off for now, Isla.

Thursday 6/1/2023 - Dog Park Drama

Hey guys! It’s Isla here today! So, something kinda ridiculous happened at the dog park again. Basically, there’s this one dog–let’s call him Sam–whose dad never puts him on a leash. Like, NEVER. And get this: when they’re not in the dog park, they drive around the neighborhood in a golf cart and Sam runs next to them with no leash! Sam is a total wanderer and likes to sniff around and visit other dogs and their owners. Even if the other dogs and owners don’t want to visit. Not gonna lie, it’s a bit frustrating.

One time we saw them, Sam’s dad even got mad at another dog who snapped at Sam for getting too close. But, like, HE was the one not following the rules! SMH.

Anyway, tonight was no different. As we were leaving the park, Sam charged up to the gate all wild and crazy. And instead of waiting for us to exit first, his dad just opens the gate, so now we’re all in a tiny space together. Rex and I were trying to be chill, but it’s tough when we’re on a leash and Sam isn’t. Fortunately, mom and dad helped us out of there but man, it was incredibly stressful.

Thankfully, we don’t see Sam and his dad often. I mean, we like Sam, but his dad is kind of a pain. Here’s hoping our next trip to the park is smoother sailing! All right, signing off! Catch ya later!
