Sunday 6/25/2023 - New Huge Bunny Counts and a Fireworks Rant!

Hey guys, Isla here and oh boy, do I have some exciting news for you today! But before we dive into that, can we have a little chit-chat about fireworks? I personally don’t really enjoy them, and I know many others feel the same way. While I understand that if you want you are going to shoot them off, please be mindful of others. Here are a few tips to ensure everyone has a good time:

  • Only shoot them off on the 4th of July or maybe a day before or after
  • Stick to the legal ones – the illegal ones are no bueno
  • Be respectful of others by limiting the time you shoot them off

Alright, enough of my rant. Now to the best part of my day – we saw a whopping 64 bunnies today! Holy moly, that’s a lot of bunnies. We even took our usual route, so it wasn’t like we went out of our way to see them. Our new goal is to spot 70 bunnies! Wish us luck, folks.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope you all have a great week! See ya later, gaters!

Dog park fireworks week
Dog Park - Rex and Isla

Wednesday 6/28/2023 - shortened morning walk and old bestie visit

Yo! Rex here, reporting in. Our morning walk was kinda meh, it got cut short because mom was going to the animal shelter with some friends to help walk their dogs. And while I’d definitely rather have had a longer walk, I’m cool with it if it means our doggo pals get to stretch their legs too. Word is ma walked three awesome pittie mixes by the names of Ariat, Rocky and Carson – they were super stoked to be out and about. Mom was bummed she forgot her phone, but she’s gonna be going every week moving forward so plenty of opportunities for pics of the cute adoptable pups!

And even though our morning walk was shorter and uneventful, our nightly dog park walk was fun. We saw an old bestie Jasmine at the park that we haven’t seen in a long time. Dad got to visit with Jasmine’s dad while mom threw the ball for me. My sister did get a little snippy at one point when she thought Jasmine was going to try and steal my ball, but everything worked out okay.

We stayed out later than usual and I was wiped by the time we got home. But that is good because it meant I got lots of ball time. Oh, and we saw two of those dumb toads. I’m learning not to try and grab those then because mom says they’re toxic.

Well, later, gators – Rex signing off!

Thursday 6/29/2023 - Lost Bandana and Fireworks

Hey everyone! Isla here, checking in on this hot summertime day. Our morning walks are getting warmer, but we’re still going strong with three-to-five-mile walks. Mom says we will need to shorten them as it gets hotter, but we’ll see. Today was a bit warmer, but I still wanted to go far, so mom had to get creative with keeping us hydrated. Besides bringing water along, she found sprinklers for us to play in and we even have a friend who leaves out water for us!

My brother, Rex, was being a bit of a pain this morning and kept pulling on the leash, but after mom stopped and chatted with him about it a few times, he finally decided to stop. We both wore cool bandanas, but Rex somehow lost his. Oh well, we still have plenty at home!

Oh, I’m also getting better at not fearing the loud boom noises. Unfortunately, with the Fourth of July is coming up and so there will be lots of fireworks happening. Hopefully, I won’t get scared again, and end up missing some of our walks. Okay, that’s all for now! Talk to you all soon! Isla over and out!
